The kinds of velvet fabric
The kinds of velvet fabric
Types of Velvet Fabric   Crushed Velvet: Crushed velvet is one of the unique forms of velvet. It can be made by twisting or pressing the fabric after it dries. Crushed velvet is not uniform in appearance. It rises and falls in an organic way that is visually stunning.   Embossed Velvet: This velvet is embossed with words, symbols, or other shapes. It is also known as printed velvet. You can feel embossing when you touch the velvet fabric.   Stretch velvet: The material has a stretchy texture because it incorporates spandex. Stretch velvet is often used for sports clothing, such as leggings and leotards.   Plain Velvet: Plain velvet is heavier than other types and is usually made from cotton. It is slightly stretcher than nylon velvet and less shiny than traditional silk. It can be used for clothing, accessories, and even home decor.   Hammered Velvet: This type of velvet fabric is considered to be the finest form of velvet. It has been pressed or smashed instead of crushed. This fabric has a dappled appearance that is very similar to the coat of a warm, soft animal.   Lyons Velvet: This velvet is denser than most other types, making it ideal for outerwear applications. Lyons velvet is a luxurious outerwear material that can be used for hats and coats.   Panne Velvet: Although "Panne" may be used to refer to many things when it comes to velvet, the original meaning of this term was to describe crushed velvet that had been subjected only to a one-direction thrusting moment. Today, Panne is used more commonly to describe velvet that has a bunched appearance.   Utrecht Velvet: Although this type of crimped velvet is no longer in fashion, it can still be found in eveningwear and dresses.   Voided Velvet: This velvet has patterns that are made up of sections with piles and others without. This type of velvet can be made in many different shapes and designs, making it similar to embossed velvet.

How to Choose the Perfect Storage Bag for Your Needs
How to Choose the Perfect Storage Bag for Your Needs
Picking the Best Storage Bag: Your Ultimate Guide   With so many options available, selecting the right storage bag can be overwhelming. Whether you're looking to organize craft supplies, pack for travel, or sort your wardrobe, pinpointing your primary purpose will help narrow down the selection. Depending on your needs, you may want to choose a bag with pockets to hold items like stationery and memorabilia. Other considerations include size, material, and design.   Size The size of the storage bag you choose depends on your needs and the items you intend to store. The range of sizes is vast, from tiny pouches that hold a single piece of jewelry to jumbo bags that can fit bedding. To narrow down your options, you can start by identifying your primary purpose for the storage bag, whether that's organizing craft supplies or packing for travel. Then, consider the materials and features that you'll need to meet those requirements. One popular option is a vacuum storage bag. This bag uses a hand pump to suck away air and create a seal, reducing the volume of the bag by up to 90%. This saves space and prevents your belongings from being crushed or wrinkled during storage. This type of storage bag also offers added security, as it locks in moisture and dust, ensuring that your belongings stay fresh and protected for as long as possible. There are many different types of vacuum storage bags available on the market, and you can choose from a wide range of colors and designs. You can even find a bag that's designed specifically for storing handbags. This unique design is a great way to keep your favorite bags organized and prevent them from getting lost or damaged. Another great option for storing handbags is a hanging storage bag. These bags are ideal for storing delicate items like jewelry, but they can also be used to organize other small items like flash drives that contain personal files or memory cards. You can hang these storage bags from a closet rod or from a doorway hook to make them more accessible. There are also storage bags that can be used to organize craft and hobby supplies. Gallon-size storage bags are ideal for storing craft supplies and can protect them from dust and moisture. They're also a good choice for storing documents, such as passports and birth certificates. These storage bags are transparent, so you can easily locate and access your important documents when needed. They're also lightweight and durable, making them a convenient option for transporting or carrying your documents. If you're interested in purchasing these storage bags, keep an eye out for any available 4wd Supacentre Promo Code that may help you save on your purchase.   Material When choosing a storage bag, look for durable and long-lasting materials. Plastic bags, for example, are easy to clean and resist moisture. They also have large sturdy handles that make it convenient to carry them around. They are especially useful for storing clothes, accessories, and bedding. Some models come with a zippered enclosure that prevents dust mites from settling in the bags. Another great option for storing clothing is a garment bag. These are made of clear plastic and can be easily stacked. Without having to unzip the bag, it is simple to see what is within thanks to this. Additionally, some models have a hook to hang the bags in closets. Some even have a transparent cover that can be zipped closed to protect the contents from insects and other pests. Lastly, you should choose a food-grade bag and BPA-free. This is particularly important when storing food items, as it will ensure that no harmful chemicals are leaching into the food. Food-grade bags are also often microwave and freezer-safe. If you are storing food items in your storage bag, it is recommended that you regularly rotate the stock and use a “first in, first out” system to avoid spoilage. Many vacuum-sealed bags are designed for temporary storage, while others can maintain a vacuum for up to a year. To prolong the lifespan of your bag, it’s best to store it in a cool and dry environment. Avoid storing it in damp basements or unheated garages, as these are conducive to the growth of mold and mildew. If you’re planning to use your storage bag as a travel bag, make sure it can be washed and cleaned with soapy water. Moreover, wash it periodically to remove any body oils or sweat that might accumulate on its surface. Additionally, you should also consider using a dehumidifier in high-humidity areas to prevent the buildup of moisture in your bag. This will prevent it from forming mildew or mold, and it will help your items stay fresher. And for potential savings on your chosen storage bag, be on the lookout for any available Sports & Outdoors Promo Code that could offer discounts or deals.   Design The design of a storage bag is a crucial factor to consider when choosing the right one for your needs. It should be durable and sturdy, so it can withstand repeated use and harsh conditions. In addition, it should be transparent to allow you to see what's inside without opening it. It should also have a convenient carry handle and be easy to clean. In addition, it should be able to fit a variety of objects and be easily stackable. Whether you're looking to organize your craft supplies, pack for a trip, or store seasonal clothing, there's a storage solution for everyone. But with a multitude of sizes, materials, and designs available, it can be difficult to decide which one is best for your specific needs. To choose the best option, determine your primary use and stick with it. For example, if you're planning to store food items, make sure the bag is leak-proof and has double zip protection. Also, be sure not to overfill the bag as this can strain the seal and cause damage. Lastly, be sure to regularly rotate the contents of your storage bags and check them for any signs of wear and tear. Some storage bags come with a convenient handle or zipper enclosure that can help you carry them easily. These features are important for keeping your hands free while transporting your items. However, they can sometimes cause indentations on the bag's surface, especially when used with bulky or heavy items. To avoid this, simply wrap the chain or handle with a towel to reduce the amount of contact between it and the bag's body. If you're a minimalist who prefers to keep things organized, then you should consider investing in a hanging vacuum storage bag. These handy accessories allow you to store your clothes in groups so that you can find them easily when you need them. They're also a great way to save space in your closet, as they can be stored vertically instead of horizontally. They're also a great choice for storing large items like coats, jackets, and dresses.   Functionality Storage bags are designed to hold a multitude of items. Whether you need to pack for a trip, organize your crafting supplies, or store seasonal clothing, the right bag can help keep your belongings organized and protected from dust and moisture. There are a variety of styles and materials to choose from, but it’s important to consider your primary use when selecting a storage bag. If you are storing delicate items, it’s important to select a storage bag with a sturdy build and a durable zipper that will stand up to repeated use. In addition, be sure to select a bag that features a strong seal to prevent leaks or moisture. Some bags feature slide seals, twist-ties, or drawstrings while others have a vacuum seal for extra strength and longevity. You may also want to select a bag with an expandable bottom to accommodate bulkier items or one that comes with a clear, labeled window for easy identification. Some storage bags can be hung to free up space in closets while retaining the ability to be easily reached. This is especially useful if you tend to grab your accessories on the go, including small items like USBs or flash drives containing personal information. If you have a small amount of items to store, a hanging storage bag could be the perfect solution for your needs. Alternatively, some storage bags are meant to be stuffed and stored in an upright position so they maintain their form when unpacked. Some bags can be stuffed with newspaper, a blanket, or other soft, lightweight items for stability and to ensure they retain their shape when unpacked. These types of storage bags are ideal for storing clothing and other fragile items while traveling. Regardless of what type of storage bag you prefer, it’s important to properly maintain it to ensure its longevity and effectiveness. Avoid overfilling the bag, as this can strain the seal and cause leaks. Regularly rotate your stock and always use a clean, dry bag to protect your belongings from moisture and other harmful substances. In addition, be sure to store your bag in a cool, dry place where it will not be exposed to temperature extremes. Conclusion choosing the perfect storage bag for your needs involves considering the material, size, and features of the bag. Decide what you will be storing and choose a bag made of a durable material that can withstand the weight and size of your items. Consider the size of the bag and ensure it can accommodate your items without being too bulky. Lastly, look for features such as airtight seals or moisture-resistant materials if you are storing items that require extra protection. With these factors in mind, you can find the perfect storage bag to meet your needs. Note: The content published in this post is claimed to be original and belongs to the author.

About Yuan Dan
About Yuan Dan
The origin of New Year's Day in China Western New Year's Day in Chinese is usually called "元旦 (yuándàn)." The phrase 元旦 first appear in "晋书(Book of Jin)" of ancient China, but the meaning had been recoginized for over 4000 years. The first day of twelfth lunar month or October was celebrated as 元旦. Then it was celebrated on the first day of Lunar New Year since the reign of Emperor Wudi of the Han Dynasty. When the formation of the Republic of China, 元旦 is on the day of Jan. 1st in Gregorian calenda. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Gregorian January 1 was renamed named 元旦节, with the aim of distinguishing the new year(新年xīn nián) in "农历 (nónglì) lunar calendar" and the "阳历 (yánglì) Gregorian calendar."   Why do Chinese call New Year "元旦 (yuándàn)"? The Chinese Character"元 (yuán)" means "首(beginning, first place)" . For example, 元首(yuán shǒu) means the head of state. "旦 (dàn)" means "日(day, daybreak)". Character "旦 (dàn)" is a pictograph by putting"日(rì) sun" on the top, "一 (yī) " on the bottom, which can be regarded as a horizon. "日" and "一" partnered up to become the meaning "the sun is rising slowly from the horizon", which perfectly indicates the beginning of a new day. So, joining the two words together means the first day of year. It's a celebration of discarding old and bringing in new things.   How do Chinese people celebrate New Year's Day Nowadays, New Year's Day becomes a "法定假日 (fǎdìng jiàrì) statutory holiday" in China. The people are rewarded with one day's vacation, then the holiday is usually before or after weekends, so usually people will get 3 days off. During this festival, people wish each other good luck in the New Year and exchange gift-cards. For Chinese young people, they usually join together, let off fireworks or attend New Year's Eve countdown party. Some TV stations, schools or companies will hold New Year's Gala to welcome and celebrate the coming of the new Year.

What is winter solstice?
What is winter solstice?
What is the winter solstice? Solstices happen twice a year, in June and December, as an official mark of the change in seasons. The winter solstice marks the day when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, a line that is located at 23.5 degrees south of the equator and runs through countries like Chile and Australia, and is furthest away from the sun. The distance brings colder temperatures and less light. On the day of this astronomical event, the sun is at its lowest elevation and stands in a position that does not vary for several days. That’s the reason for the term solstice, which combines the Latin words sol, for sun, with stit, from the word sistere—which means to stand still. The word solstice’s first known use was in the 14th century, per the Merriam-Webster dictionary.   This year the solstice falls on Dec. 21 for the U.S. and Dec. 22 in Europe, marking the (astronomical) beginning of winter, although there are also meteorological seasons that mark winter as starting in early December through February.   What traditions are celebrated across the world? Ancient civilizations have long been fascinated by the movement of the sun, allowing cultures like that of the Maya to accurately track its movement and create complex and precise calendars. Others showed their interest by constructing monuments like Stonehenge in England and the Torreon in Peru as a way to track the sun’s annual progress. Some of those centuries-old traditions remain today, as thousands of people travel to Stonehenge, which was built to align with the sun during the solstices, to watch the sunrise. The event is also live streamed on the English Heritage site. Austrians celebrate the winter solstice by traveling to Hollabrunn to watch people dressed as Krampus—a half-demon, half-goat that punishes children who behave badly during the Christmas season—playfully hit and terrorize onlookers.

What is felt fabric?
What is felt fabric?
What is felt fabric? Felt is a type of matted fabric that consists of textile fibers condensed and pressed together. Traditionally made with wool or another type of animal fur, it’s now possible to make felt with acrylic and other forms of synthetic fibers. Wool felt is highly flame retardant, and it extinguishes itself. This textile also has sound-dampening properties, and it is highly moisture-wicking and absorbent. Felt holds the distinction of being one of the only fabrics made without weaving or knitting. Using heat, water, and pressure, felt manufacturers permanently interlock natural or synthetic fibers to create matted felt fabric. It’s then possible to cut or shape felt to produce apparel items as varied as hats and boot liners. Felt fabric today While some hatmakers still make beaver felt hats to this day, most accessory manufacturers have switched to more ethical fibers like wool. Felt is still a popular hat material, but this fabric’s uses have expanded into other types of accessories as well as homewares and crafting materials. With the invention of acrylic fabric in the early 20th century, the international felt industry believed that it had found a cheaper alternative to natural fibers. While natural felt is renowned for its flame retardant qualities, however, acrylic is highly combustible, and other synthetic fibers used to make felt, such as rayon, aren’t much better. As a result, high-quality felt remains made with natural fibers like wool, and consumers generally associate acrylic or rayon felt with lower-tier products. Felt never truly regained the popularity it lost in the West when beaver hats went out of style, but plenty of cultures around the world continue to use felt for ancestral purposes entirely unfazed by the aftereffects of this ultimately temporary style craze.

Satin Fabric
Satin Fabric
Satin, along with twill and plain weave, is one of the most important weaves in the textile industry. It creates material that is glossy, smooth, or lustrous. It has a glossy top surface and a dull texture at the back.   It was first developed in the 12th century in China. Then it passed through the Silk Road, leading to wider production in the Middle East. Now, it has spread to many countries across the globe.   Satin was a highly-regarded textile back then. They reserve this material for the clothing of royals and rich aristocrats. In short, satin symbolized wealth and prestige.   Satin fabric is made using the satin weave technique, which involves lengthy floating yarns on the fabric’s surface. Satin has several characteristics, including: · Smooth, shiny surface · A high degree of drape · Soft and luxurious · Can withstand wear and tear · Versatile Uses of Satin Fabric The contributions of satin fabric go beyond fashion. What is Neoprene material ?
What is Neoprene material ?
What is Neoprene? Neoprene (polychloroprene) is a synthetic rubber that is resistant to water, oil, and heat, making it a good insulator. It's commonly used to make wetsuits, but you can also get this fabric at your local craft store to make DIY phone cases, mouse pads, and even winter coats! Who Invented Neoprene? Wallace Carothers, a chemist at Harvard University, invented neoprene in 1931. He worked with the DuPont Company with the goal of finding a solution to the rubber shortage that occurred after World War I. The material was originally marketed under the name "duprene" and was used to make telephone wire, insulation, gaskets, and hoses in car engines. By World War II, it was renamed "neoprene" and was solely manufactured for use by the military. Everyday consumers weren't able to buy it at stores until after the war was over! What is Neoprene Used For? Neoprene is primarily used to make wetsuits, but it's also found in winter clothing like gloves, boots, and jackets. The material also has a ton of industrial uses, from fan belts in cars to the audio cones in Bluetooth speakers. We normally use it to make :   Custom Travel Bag,  Lunch Bag, Tote bag,  Dog Tranining Bag, Beach Bag, Handbag,  Backpack etc.

What are non-woven fabrics?
What are non-woven fabrics?
Nonwoven fabrics are flat fabrics made from short-staple fibers and long filament fibers, which are felted or bonded together by a mechanical, thermal or chemical process. The fibers may be oriented in one direction or spread randomly into webs, mats or sheets. It may consist of one layer or multiple layers. The production process of non-woven fabrics does not involve spinning or weaving as they are made directly from separate fibers, molten or dissolved fiber forming materials like plastic. It is said to be the easiest method to create fabric from fibers. Polyester, and viscose (rayon) are the most commonly used fibers. Other fibers are nylon, microfiber, acrylic cotton, and bamboo fiber. The main types of nonwoven fabrics that we regularly use are interfacing, fusible web, felt, fake leather, fleece, and batting. Dryer sheets and wet wipes are made of a nonwoven material. Suede and Synthetic suede are non-woven. Vinyl, vinyl and resin-coated fabrics, rubberized fabrics, and plastic laminates are other non-woven fabrics. Boiled wool is a fabric made with the non-woven method. Another non-woven fabric is the Polypropylene material that disposable hospital gowns, bed covers, etc are made of – other than this, these materials are used to make bag lining, shopping bags, shoe bags, disposable diaper covers.

Different Webbing Types
Different Webbing Types
The webbing is very useful for our different bags,  such as backpack,  travel bags,  custom bags , cooler bags etc. But how to choose the right webbing ?   Understanding Webbing Types & Materials First, let's briefly talk about webbing materials. Sailrite webbing options are made from six different materials. Some material offerings have a few varieties to choose from, while others are only offered in one standard or heavy duty variety: Cotton/polyester blend webbing: Heavy duty variety. Dyneema® webbing: Standard variety. Nylon webbing: Standard, heavy duty and tubular varieties. Polyester webbing: Grosgrain, standard, super heavy duty, tubular and seat belt varieties. Polypropylene webbing: Standard and heavy duty varieties. Sunbrella® acrylic/polyester blend webbing: Standard variety. Most of these webbings are available in multiple widths and colors, so you can customize your project as much as possible. In addition, webbing comes in both flat and tubular forms. We offer flat versions of all our webbings. You can also get tubular webbing in nylon and polyester. Tubular webbing is hollow, stronger than flat, and able to hold a rope or cord. Using rope or cord with tubular webbing is not required though — it can be used the same as flat webbing. Key Webbing Features to Consider Not every webbing can be used in every project or environment because of the different fibers used to make them. Knowing the properties of each webbing is crucial to picking the one that best fits your project. Before you decide, think about these important factors: UV resistance: Will your project be fully indoors, fully outdoors or a combination? Abrasion resistance: Will your webbing be used in a high-traffic area or exposed to high levels of rubbing or chafing? Buoyancy: Do you need webbing that floats on water? Water absorption: Do you need webbing that stays mostly or completely dry when exposed to water or other liquids? Breaking strength: Do you need webbing for a weight-bearing application? Heat resistance: Do you need webbing that can withstand high temperatures? Stretch: Do you need webbing that has some give or that resists stretching?

What is canvas?
What is canvas?
What is canvas material made of?   The canvas material is a plain-woven fabric usually made of cotton or linen. How it is woven is a key part of what makes it so strong and long-lasting. Canvas can also be made from hemp, PVC, and other synthetic fibers, but these are rare. Canvas has contributed to some of their most significant events. For example, the sailcloth was made of canvas, which led to many discoveries in the past by countries that were making progress. Well-known artists also used it to bring their many ideas to life through paintings. Canvas is also made into a fabric that can be worn. It can be used for shoes and bags because it is durable and can keep water out.   Is canvas better than cotton? Yes, cotton is a fiber, while canvas is a type of fabric. Cotton is often used to make canvas, but it is not the only fiber that can be used to make fabric. There are many ways to weave and knit cotton. For example, jersey fabric, made by machine knitting, is used to make a lot of plain cotton T-shirts. Cotton fibers can also be found in flannels and other woven fabrics that are not canvas. Canvas is not always made of cotton, either. Canvas can also be made from linen, hemp, and synthetic fibers. For a fabric to be canvas, it needs to be stiff and have a plain weave. Cotton and linen canvases get softer, but they are still more inflexible than cotton sheets or a jersey knit t-shirt.

What is genuine leather?
What is genuine leather?
What is genuine leather? There are two broadly accepted definitions of genuine leather. Firstly, it can be used (or abused) as a catchall term for any leather product that contains traces of animal skin. There is no universal system for categorising leather. Regulations vary enormously from one country to another, and the lack of consensus about what constitutes genuine leather makes it an ambiguous label. This vagueness poses problems for consumers. You might be tempted, for example, to buy a genuine leather wallet from a vendor on your summer trip to Tuscany. The wallet is costly and attractive in appearance, but the ‘genuine leather’ stamp offers no real insight into its quality. It could easily have been reconstituted from layers of inferior left-overs — and offer no lasting durability as a result. Sure, you could initiate a conversation with the seller and ask about the leather or the tannery in which it was manufactured, but this is a rare luxury. Onto the next definition. In recent years, genuine leather has also become a byword for ‘split leather’ or ‘corrected-grain leather’. More on this in the next section, but split leather is essentially the worst cut of leather available, irrespective of which animal the hide comes from. Due to its inferior quality, split leather is also the cheapest. Disclaimer: while the genuine leather tag is increasingly associated with lower-quality leather, there are always exceptions. Some premium artisan brands still embrace the genuine leather stamp. To avoid confusion, we recommend you always do your research; lookout for information about the cut and grade of the leather, this will help you to determine its quality.

What Is Christmas and When Did it Start?
What Is Christmas and When Did it Start?
Christmas, the cherished annual Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, is a time-honored tradition observed on December 25th in the Western Church. The origins of this date trace back to ancient times, with its association dating as far back as A.D. 273. Interestingly, the historical significance of December 25th intersects with two pagan festivals that honored the sun. Some historical accounts suggest that the choice of December 25th for Christmas was deliberate, aiming to counteract the influence of these pagan celebrations. Nevertheless, even today, a lingering unease about Christmas persists among certain individuals who worry that its historical connection to pagan festivals might somehow taint its Christian significance. However, at the heart of the Christian faith lies the belief that the gospel not only transcends cultural influences but also has the power to transform them. In the early 4th century, around A.D. 320, a theologian responded to these concerns by offering a profound perspective, stating, "We hold this day holy, not like the pagans because of the birth of the sun, but because of Him who made it." This eloquent assertion underscores the essence of Christmas—honoring the birth of Jesus Christ as the true source of light and hope, transcending any historical associations and reaffirming the profound spiritual significance of this sacred holiday.

The story of Thanksgiving Day
The story of Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holiday meals; a time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie; a time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giant balloons.   Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, which this year (2003) is November 27th.   The Pilgrims who sailed to this country aboard the Mayflower were originally members of the English Separatist Church (a Puritan sect). They had earlier fled their home in England and sailed to Holland (The Netherlands) to escape religious persecution. There, they enjoyed more religious tolerance, but they eventually became disenchanted with the Dutch way of life, thinking it ungodly. Seeking a better life, the Separatists negotiated with a London stock company to finance, a pilgrimage to America. Most of those making the trip aboard the Mayflower were non-Separatists, but were hired to protect the company's interests. Only about one-third of the original colonists were Separatists   The Pilgrims set ground at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. Their first winter was devastating. At the beginning of the following fall, they had lost 46 of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower. But the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast—including 91 Indians who had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year. It is believed that the Pilgrims would not have made it through the year without the help of the natives. The feast was more of a traditional English harvest festival than a true “thanksgiving” observance. It lasted three days.   Governor William Bradford sent “four men fowling” after wild ducks and geese. It is not certain that wild turkey was part of their feast. However, it is certain that they had venison. The term “turkey” was used by the Pilgrims to mean any sort of wild fowl.   Another modern staple at almost every Thanksgiving table is pumpkin pie. But it is unlikely that the first feast included that treat. The supply of flour had been long diminished, so there was no bread or pastries of any kind. However, they did eat boiled pumpkin, and they produced a type of fried bread from their corn crop. There was also no milk, cider, potatoes, or butter. There were no domestic cattle for dairy products, and the newly-discovered potato was still considered by many Europeans to be poisonous. But the feast did include fish, berries, watercress, lobster, dried fruit, clams, venison, and plums.   This “thanksgiving” feast was not repeated the following year. But in 1623, during a severe drought, the pilgrims gathered in a prayer service, praying for rain. When a long, steady rain followed the very next day, Governor Bradford proclaimed another day of Thanksgiving, again inviting their Indian friends. It wasn't until June of 1676 that another Day of Thanksgiving was proclaimed.   On June 20, 1676, the governing council of Charlestown, Massachusetts, held a meeting to determine how best to express thanks for the good fortune that had seen their community securely established. By unanimous vote they instructed Edward Rawson, the clerk, to proclaim June 29 as a day of thanksgiving. It is notable that this thanksgiving celebration probably did not include the Indians, as the celebration was meant partly to be in recognition of the colonists' recent victory over the “heathen natives,”   October of 1777 marked the first time that all 13 colonies joined in a thanksgiving celebration. It also commemorated the patriotic victory over the British at Saratoga. But it was a one-time affair.   George Washington proclaimed a National Day of Thanksgiving in 1789, although some were opposed to it. There was discord among the colonies, many feeling the hardships of a few Pilgrims did not warrant a national holiday. And later, President Thomas Jefferson scoffed at the idea of having a day of thanksgiving.   It was Sarah Josepha Hale, a magazine editor, whose efforts eventually led to what we recognize as Thanksgiving. Hale wrote many editorials championing her cause in her Boston Ladies' Magazine, and later, in Godley’s Lady's Book. Finally, after a 40-year campaign of writing editorials and letters to governors and presidents, Hale's obsession became a reality when, in 1863, President Lincoln proclaimed the last Thursday in November as a national day of Thanksgiving.

What is faux leather made out of ?
What is faux leather made out of ?
We see it in hundreds of stores in bags, belts, shoes, purses, wallets, and so many other goods. So what is faux leather? What is it made out of? How is it created? We have the answers below. HOW FAUX LEATHER IS CREATED Faux leather, also known as synthetic leather, begins with a fabric base such as polyester. The fabric is then given an imitation leather finish and texture with wax, dye, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or polyurethane. WHAT IS FAUX LEATHER? Faux leather is obviously designed to look like real leather, but the surface of synthetic leather is uniform. (A very regular, even texture pattern is a sign that it’s a machine-made piece.) Faux leather also feels cold and unnaturally even compared to real leather. When you press your finger into the surface of faux leather, rather than stretching or wrinkling like real leather, the synthetic material simply depresses under your finger while still retaining its shape. Because of the chemicals used in its production, faux leather can also smell like plastic. (If you smell a plasticky, chemical odor, you can bet the leather is synthetic.) DOES FAUX LEATHER LAST? Faux leather does not last nearly as long as real leather, and unfortunately, when it begins to wear out, it does not wear out attractively. It’s much cheaper than real leather, though, which is good - because you’ll be replacing it regularly.

Custom Canvas Bags, Promotional Canvas Tote Bags
Custom Canvas Bags, Promotional Canvas Tote Bags
Custom Canvas Bags, Promotional Canvas Tote Bags Reusable shopping bags are all the rage today and are quickly replacing plastic shopping bags in many homes and stores. Among the types popularly available, canvas tote bags are more common and widely preferred over other types. More advertisers are turning to custom canvas bags to tout their brands than any other kind. Almost everyone owns at least one. But just what is the material known as canvas actually made of? Many people mistakenly think that "canvas" refers to the material it's comprised of. Actually, "canvas" refers to the fabric's weave, not its material content. It is plain-woven, a very basic weave that produces a strong and sturdy fabric. Furthermore, canvas can be made into different varieties depending on how tightly the threads are woven together. Tighter weaves are referred to as "duck canvas." In fact, canvas can be made of several different types of fibers. However, it is most commonly made from cotton (from cotton plant) or linen (from the flax plant) and sometimes hemp (from the cannabis plant). Why Does Canvas Make a Good Material for a custom tote bag? You're probably familiar with some of the common uses of canvas. It's one of the preferred fabrics for manufacturing tents because it is so strong. Canvas tents are able to withstand heavy winds and are resistant to snags and tears. When treated with a waterproof coating they also keep the rain out.   Canvas is also used as a surface for painting. The reason for this has a little bit to do with its durability, but even more to do with the fact that canvas accepts paint well. Colors won't bleed and paint won't flake off as with other surfaces. Canvas is also very flexible. It can be stretched to fit over a frame for painting and display. Finally, canvas is relatively inexpensive so it is an affordable surface for painting on. All of the things that make canvas ideal for painting on are the same things that make it perfect for use in constructing canvas tote bags. The material makes a strong, durable bag that is also lightweight, so it's practical for packing full of groceries or books. Plus, it readily accepts ink during the imprinting process with little or no bleeding. The imprint won't peel or flake off afterward. Custom canvas bags can even washed without damaging the bag or the imprint. Since canvas is made from natural materials, canvas is considered to be environmentally friendly. Cotton, flax and hemp plants are all renewable resources that can be grown easily without harming the environment. Plus, one reusable bag is estimated to be equal to 700 plastic bags when used regularly. So advertisers can feel good about choosing promotional canvas tote bags, and shoppers may prevent hundreds of bags from entering landfills over the lifespan of a single custom canvas bag.

Differences Between Waterproof and Water-Resistant
Differences Between Waterproof and Water-Resistant
Differences Between Waterproof and Water-Resistant Waterproof The difference between waterproof, water-resistant and water-repellant fabric is primarily the ability to withstand water from seeping in. A waterproof material, like plastic, provides 100% protection from getting wet. However, waterproof fabrics that are used to manufacture raincoats, jackets, etc., normally use a membrane material so that it is breathable and one does not get sweaty and clammy from inside. Breathability is crucial for waterproof fabric so that the raincoat or jacket can keep moisture away from the body. Waterproof fabric is used for making umbrellas too, so that not even a single drop can seep in. The outer layer is made of water-repellant material and it is ideal to be used in heavy rain, snowfall or even in underwater sports if you want to remain dry while you are many feet deep under water. These waterproof fabrics are developed by combining a naturally water-resistant fabric with a durable water-repellent (DWR) fabric. The result is that it will keep the wearer dry outside and sweat-free inside. Water-Resistant Water-resistant materials provide some amount of resistance from getting wet, however are not 100% waterproof. Synthetic materials like polyester, satin, pongee and nylon have a natural resistance towards water unlike cotton, which absorbs water readily. They provide the lowest amount of protection from rain and sleet. When a fabric resists water, the tightly woven yarn acts as a barrier between the user and water. It takes some time for the water to seep in, and this material is not at all suitable for making raincoats or waterproof jackets. Water-resistant material is only suitable for making dresses and shirts that dry up fast. They do not provide any resistance from rain, hailstorm, or sleet. Often, a water-resistant material is coated with a suitable membrane to make it water-repellant.

How to choose the zipper for your bags?
How to choose the zipper for your bags?
When your bags comes to customization, do you only choose your colors, and add your logo? The answer is no!You can tailor make all details as per your needs! That means logo, color, patterns, fabric, size, metal parts, and a lot more. And zipper, as an important part of a bag, there are many details to look into also. Structure of a Zipper   Different Types of Zippers Coil zipper(also known as nylon zipper):Coil zippers are a popular lightweight zipper. The texture of the teeth is a lot more subtle than the plastic or metal zipper teeth which may make it a good choice for bags and pockets where you don’t want your zipper standing out Plastic zipper:Molded plastic zippers have the teeth molded and melted directly onto the zipper tape. The shape of the teeth makes them a bit stiffer than the nylon zippers. It's the most cost-effective option, great for hildren’s clothing, tote style bags and more. Metal zipper: Metal zippers are very durable but heavier than the others. They are perfect for heavy-duty coats, duffle bags, and leather projects. But the slider doesn’t move as smoothly up and down the teeth as the other two, especially when compared to the coil. Invisible zipper:The teeth of an invisible zipper are on the backside of the zipper. These are commonly used in formal wear and many styles of dresses, and sometimes used on bags for styles.   Different Sizes of Zippers in Use for Bags

Difference between Polyester and Nylon Fabric
Difference between Polyester and Nylon Fabric
Polyester and nylon fabrics have a lot in common They’re both lightweight materials made from synthetic fibers. And they’re both very popular options for our bags,  such as cooler bags, diaper bags, backpacks,  travel bags,  school bags , hand bags etc.    So What is the difference between polyester and nylon? Feel & performance Nylon was created as an alternative to silk, which explains its soft and silky feel. It is also shinier and stretchier than polyester. Polyester is a generally a rougher, duller fabric. However, modern manufacturing practices have improved the feel of polyester. You can now find polyester that mimic the softness of cotton and isn’t so close to to the feel of nylon. You’ll also find polyester blended with other fibers, like cotton and rayon. This means the yarn has all of the great features of polyester at a more affordable price. Durability Both nylon and polyester rate well for strength and durability. But when we make a direct comparison, nylon is stronger and stretchier than polyester, meaning garments made from nylon should last longer. Nylon falls down slightly when it comes to abrasion resistance. This material pills more easily than polyester. Whilst this doesn’t weaken the garment, it will tend to look older more quickly.
